cupping – (20 minutes…$25)

Cupping is one of the healing modalities used in Chinese medicine for centuries. The most common method, called “fire cupping”, involves heating glass cups and then placing them on the body. The heat source removes the oxygen from the cup, creating a suction effect on the muscle. This method releases adhesions in the muscle tissues, restrictions in the myofascial layer, and even latent pathogens under the skin’s surface.

about acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique used in Chinese medicine and is part of a 2,000-year-old medical system that works by using delicate, thin needles on specific points of the body to create conductivity and activate the body’s meridians.

The human body is comprised of thousands of intricate networks and passages (called Meridians) that connect the body’s network of systems to each other and the brain. A complicated system such as this requires maintenance to keep the flow of communication running smoothly. Since the body is comprised mostly of water, acupuncture uses the metal of the needles to create conductivity in the body to clear out and reconnect these passageways.

Think of the body as an intricate network of streams and rivers; occasionally over time rocks, leaves, and other debris can block the flow of the water like a miniature dam. In the body this is seen as the Qi (energy) and blood (nourishment) getting blocked from reaching their destination, manifesting in the body as sickness and pain. Acupuncture helps to dislodge this debris to get the body’s streams and rivers flowing properly again, resulting in vitality, energy, and overall health.

areas of specialty

pain relief

While our bodies are intuitive and self-healing, sometimes they can get stuck in a chronic pain feedback loop, where long after an injury has healed, the brain continually receives and sends out signals of pain. Our treatment modalities help break this cycle by realigning the body and signaling the brain that the pain feedback loop is no longer necessary.

migraine/headache

Migraines are becoming increasingly more common, and can deeply affect all areas of a person’s life. With acupuncture and bodywork, we discover the root of the migraine within the individual, and tailor the treatment to help relieve migraine symptoms, & promote overall well-being for their life-long prevention.

addiction cessation

When the individual has decided to let go of an uncontrolled behavior that is interfering with their quality of life, acupuncture and bodywork helps reset the body and relieve physical cravings to make it easier for you to give up the unwanted behavior and take back your life on your own terms.

anxiety and mental health/well-being

The person’s constitution and root cause of the mental unrest is sorted out and treated accordingly. Acupuncture and bodywork then treats these conditions by bringing the body back to center, calming the mind, and helping to promote an inner sanctity of peace and wellness.
